Often referred to as "the voodoo stone" as it can form in, on, or
around deceased human bodies is rare and was found by and named in honor
of Sir John Henry Vivian (1785-1855). Originally discovered in
Cornwall.
It is clear when it is first mined and the amount of exposure to light
determines the color! This is due to a chemical transformation of the
iron in the stone. Continued light exposure may cause the vivianite to
turn black or opaque!

Back in 3000 B.C., ancient Egyptians placed hematite specimens inside their tombs.

Often times the warriors in ancient Babylon would carry the stone to assist in overcoming battles.
